Prior to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, I have never been much of a coffee fan. But come exam weeks when I can't control my natural narcoleptic tendencies that I have to resort to coffee to pass my tests. Since then, CBTL has been my favorite hang-out, blog-drafting and exam-studying place. And this coming 2015, I'm proud to say I'm enlisting myself to a year of "OVERFLOW" with the help of their Giving Journal. With the journal, I'm going to brew my best year!
Honestly speaking, I've never stuck with a planner for more than 3 months, but The Giving Journal really makes me wanna give it a try. This year, the journal centralizes on helping us create the best versions of ourselves, creating overflows in all areas of our life, all for the sake of brewing our best year. In 2014, I can't say that I've properly prioritized everything in my life, I am not satisfied by my self and wish I could've chosen differently in many circumstances. Next year, I want to be more organized toward my goals and less impulsive with my choices,
Not only does Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf bring the spirit of The Giving Journal to loyal customers, they also bring it to life through partnerships with various social organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Real LIFE Foundation. As we all know, Habitat helps build and rebuild communities all over the Philippines. As a matter of fact, I've volunteered for them before because of Sendong. Real LIFE, on the other hand, provide material and financial assistance to deserving scholars of the secondary and tertiary levels. The scholarships are supplemented by LIFE coaching. This touches a special place in my heart since my sister also volunteers as a life mentor for a local NGO that encourages principles and is against immorality and drugs among high school and college students. I think it's wonderful that CBTL wants to inspire the community to follow their passions, nourish and grow talents, never stop learning and foster meaningful relationships.
So at this point, I might be successful in persuading you to get The Giving Journal for yourself. In that case, you should read the general mechanics right here:
The interiors are amazing. It's very conducive to journalization (yeah, that's a thing). These shots I took don't even begin to cover the quality and craftsmanship of each page. The theme is clear and the designs are congruent. It motivates me to keep on writing entries upon entries when the new year hasn't even started yet. The journals are either brown, green, lavender or orange. Each color has a corresponding icon on the cover: brown is coffee, green is tea, lavender is Ice Blended and orange has all three icons in one circle.
I personally want to benefit from what the journal says, "... help you thrive and live in abundance when it comes to developing personal fulfillment and growth, strong relationships, and a joyful spirituality." This is probably the best feature of the journal. Sure, the design is top class but what really won me over is the journal's holistic approach to life planning. It helps you set personal, professional, health, giving, financial and spiritual goals. Every week, it offers some really good encouragement at the bottom of the notes page. It's obvious that a lot of time and effort was really spent into making this journal (really, MY DREAM JOURNAL) a reality.
