Globe Telecom sets a new global standard in retail experience with their new Generation 3 flagship stores in Quezon City, Manila and Cagayan de Oro City. I was one of the few invited by Globe to witness the unveiling of the new store designed by Tim Kobe (whose repertoire include the iconic Apple Store in New York). As I've previously mentioned last November, Globe has been hosting lifestyle events in preparation to the simultaneous opening of the Manila and CDO branches.
The opening was hosted by Mateo Guidecelli and our very own Maxine Monasterio. Executives of the leading telecommunications company with Limketkai mall bosses and government officials gave a toast in honor of the flagship store before the covers were shed and we could gaze upon the renovated store in awe (well, that's what it seemed like to me).
The Globe GEN3 stores are home to various lifestyle zones with stories and exciting features for customers to experience and enjoy. These zones feature latest trends in product, people and even in business. Various lifestyle vignettes illustrate mobile and broadband technologies as connected solutions—featuring the latest devices, apps, digital connectors gadgets and services that contribute to the total interactive customer experience.
The employees entertained us with a synchronized dance number and I had to wait because we were priority #3 in touring the store. They had carefully strategized the whole thing so we don't end up overwhelming the place. Media go in third so in the meantime, we bounced to the beat of whatever DJ Callum David was playing.
Quirky 'tour guides' were quick on their feet to assist us while in the store. I stuck through with the group for the first two stations but managed to stray a little while after (I've never been one to rigidly stick to the itinerary)
The store features a variety of lifestyle zones and these zones will highlight stories of brand ambassadors every quarter. For the first quarter of 2015, with Music as the main theme, Globe GEN3 will feature four of the coolest DJs of this generation: DJ Badkiss, Callum David, Mars Miranda, and Eric Capilli - who all have inspiring success stories in their chosen career.
The Globe GEN3 Store will also serve as a venue to introduce the latest products, devices, and services offered by Globe. To start, it is the first retailer in Asia to introduce and carry Google Cardboard, the fold-your-own virtual reality headset. This is definitely a must try for those who are fascinated with virtual reality. While wearing the headset, I was able to view the various dimension of the object I was seeing. Honestly, it's hard to explain. Friends of mine who asked me about this didn't understand what I was talking about until they SAW FOR THEMSELVES (ergo, go see it for yourself!)
I am very impressed with the concept of the GEN3. I find it challenging, if not impossible, to create and sustain a technology lifestyle gallery slash fast-paced customer service center slash retail store. It has to be dynamic, as dynamic as the contemporary person's lifestyle is in respect to technology, music, entertainment and productivity. So far, I am pleased to say that Globe is able to deliver. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend you visit the new Globe GEN3 Store on the Ground Floor of LimKetKai Center's South Promenade. It's surely an experience you'd be willing to share with others.
